Probably the number one question asked about manufactured doll clothing is "Are your American Girl doll clothes made in China?"
Yes, but so are the items you buy from the famous doll company in Wisconsin. Being made in China does not make something a bad item and it does not make you a bad American for buying it. I buy from companies located in the US who have factories in China that are constantly inspected and comply with all toy regulations so you can buy from me with as much confidence as you do the big name doll clothes company. I think you will find that the quality is as good and sometimes better. The wholesalers I use are very selective and only use the best factories. They personally inspect those factories as well.
Are these doll clothes washable?
Some of the items have care tags inside them but as a collector, I would probably tend to be on the safe side and wash anything I own in cold Woolite and allow it to drip dry. Check the individual items too, although I cannot be held responsible for the care given these 18 inch doll clothes clothes once they leave my possession. Care tags are provided as guidelines by the manufacturer.
How much is shipping, what method do you use? Is there handling?
I will ship Priority Mail which, along with the handling I charge, usually will start at $8.95 and go up as items are added. If a charge ever seems excessive, I will reduce the amount before charging your card. All companies charge handling which helps to offset some of the costs involved with doing business.
Since these are readymade items, will you be keeping a lot on hand?
Probably not as I can always order and have the items within 2-3 days from my suppliers. If I do have a limited amount of a certain outfit, I will specify that in the description, as sometimes I will buy items that are closeouts. Being a home based business, I simply do not have the space to store a huge inventory of items.
Will you combine shipping/handling if I buy from either or both of your other two sites?
Of course! You can make your purchase of handmade Barbie clothes or handmade American Girl clothes from my other two sites then purchase something here at Doll Clothes Closet, I will be happy to combine shipping and handling if it's possible to mail everything in one box. The size of any of the orders will determine that. If two boxes or more would be needed, I may have to still charge the shipping/handling generated by the individual orders. But in most cases, I'm sure I will be able to combine.
How safe is my credit card information?
Very safe! When you use the shopping cart, you are in an encrypted SSL area which is also PCI compliant. I am the only person who ever has access to your information and will only hold onto credit card information if you specifically ask me to. I do run all charges manually, meaning I key them in at my merchant account's website which is also encrypted and PCI compliant. This protects both me as the merchant from getting a bogus card and you as the buyer from having a possible fraudulent charge on your card, both of which can happen when charges go through at the point of sale and are not double checked by the merchant. Card info is eventually deleted from the shopping cart server and disappears forever until the next time you place an order.
How will the charge appear on my credit card bill?
Your charge will appear as BARBEE & FRIENDS/KITTS since I share the processor with all of my websites and there was only room enough for the first two. You will receive an email when the charge is processed. I will make a note in the description that it is Doll Clothes Closet but PLEASE do remember the BARBEE & FRIENDS/KITTS when you see it on your bill, that it is from here at Doll Clothes Closet.
What if I don't like using my credit card online?
Then you simply mark your order as "phone order" and call me at your earliest convenience with your credit card information. As soon as payment is received and your card is processed, your order will ship.
What other types of payment do you take? Do you take AmEx?
PayPal is always welcome! It's a preferred method of nearly half of my other websites' customers. I will accept Postal Money orders. International customers need to use either PayPal or a credit card. At this time I prefer not to accept personal checks. And yes, I am happy to take American Express along with Discover, MasterCard and VISA. When you use PayPal I would honestly prefer you didn't do an e-check payment because it simply will delay your receiving process as I have to wait 5-6 days until PayPal tells me it's ok to send.
Do you ever share my personal information?
Absolutely not. The address information is only used to send you your order and possibly a separate receipt in the event that you would order a gift and have it mailed to someone else. Your email address is safe with me too. I hate junk mail as much as anyone does so I guard your information as safely as if it were my own personal information.
Do you have a catalog?
Sorry, with the high prices of catalogs and the uncertain amount of items that I am going to carry on the site, it simply isn't possible. Just print out the pages that you are interested in and make your own catalog or wish list if you have gift givers in the family who do not have computers.
Do you have a mailing list?
I will be doing one in the future.
Is Doll Clothes Closet a store that I can visit?
